New Rockford-Sheyenne played a pretty good first quarter but after that the visitors took control of the game as Langdon-Area-Edmore-Munich defeated the Rockets by a final score of 68-26 in non-district girls basketball action played here on Saturday, Feb. 1.
The Cardinals are one of the top teams in District 8 and Region 4. The Rockets never quit but it was just simply too much Cardinals. The visitors led virtually all the way, and at all quarter stops, 9-5, 36-13, 59-22 and again won by a final score of 68-26. L-A-E-M is a tall team and quite athletic.
The visitors made 28 field goals, 10-16 free throws and committed 8 fouls. New Rockford-Sheyenne made 8 field goals, 8-10 free throws and committed 12 fouls.
Callie Ronningen paced the Cardinals with 23 points, which was a game-high. Kaylee Lowery had 15 and Kaitlynn Scherr added 11. Hannah Haley paced the locals with 13 points.
