Bismarck, ND - Growers of dry peas, lentils, lupins, fava beans, and chickpeas in Eddy County
are being urged to participate in the election of a county representative for the North Dakota
Dry Pea and Lentil Council. According to the North Dakota Dry Pea and Lentil Council Chairman,
pulse crop producers have an exciting opportunity to serve as county or district representatives
for the North Dakota Dry Pea and Lentil Council and encourages all to participate in the election
to be held on Friday, February 28, 2020, at 1:00 (CT), at the Eddy County Extension Office, 205
3rd Street SE in New Rockford, ND.
Any person who qualifies as a participating producer as set forth in Chapter 4.1-07 Dry Pea and
Lentil Council Act can be a candidate. The election will be conducted under the supervision of
Lindsay Maddock, County Extension Agent, NDSU Extension Office, Wells County.
The North Dakota Dry Pea and Lentil Council was established during the 1997 Legislative
Session. It's members meet regularly to implement research, education and promotion.
County representatives from ND Dry Pea & Lentil Council, District 5 will assemble Wednesday,
March 25, 2020 at 1:00pm (CT) at the Pizza Ranch, located at 1066 W Main Street in Valley City
ND, to elect the district's council member of the North Dakota Dry Pea and Lentil Council.
