This game was quite for the most and very hard-fought as the locals defeated Shiloh-Christian by a final score of 54-49 in non-district boys basketball action played here on Friday, Feb. 7 before a pretty good crowd. The Skyhawks are one of the top teams in the state. Shiloh Christian led 15-14 after one stanza, the locals had a big second quarter and led 34-23 at halftime, 46-44 after three and again came away with a 54-49 win against a very good team. Jaden Mitzel paced the visitors with a game-high 27 points.
The Rockets had good balance. Bo Belquist led the way with 17 points. Hunter Thompson had 13 and Evan Ulrich added 11. The visitors made 18 field goals, 7-8 free throws and committed 13 fouls. New Rockford Sheyenne made 20 field goals, 11-13 free throws and committed only 6 fouls.
