NR-S School Board seeks candidates, election set for June 9

The New Rockford-Sheyenne School Board election will be held Tuesday, June 9, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. with polling at the New Rockford-Sheyenne School gymnasium lobby in New Rockford.

Two terms expire this year— that of Michael Schaefer and John Grann. The position held by Schaefer will be elected to a three-year term from the former New Rockford District, and the position held by Grann will be elected to a three-year term from the former Sheyenne District.

Candidacy for each school board position is determined by residency within defined geographic areas of the district, but all eligible voters of the school district may vote for each position. Candidates for these positions must file a Statement of Intent to Run for School Board and a Statement of Interests by Monday, April 6 at 4 p.m. Candidacy forms are available from the business manager at the New Rockford-Sheyenne Public School in New Rockford.

Holdover members of the board are Alyson Myhre, Mary Kay Price, Patti Jo Larson, David Holzwarth and Mike Jacobson.
