New Rockford and area folks extend sympathy to the family of Fred Schuster.
Eloise Lucht totally enjoyed and appreciated the delicious turkey dinner delivered to her door Sun- day by Richard and Sandy O’Connor. It was their treat at the Rockford Cafe.
Ken and Marvis Holte are faring well during this COVID-19. They are staying in and going for walks. Family, including a phone call from Marvis’ sister, Penny and family from Minn., brother Corey Birkholz of Grand Forks where he’s able to work from his home, son Loren of Bismarck is able to be on the job as well as their daughter, Fayette in Jamestown.
Todd and Karen Koepplin and Taylor and Amanda and Evelyn were among the many who took advantage of the curbside service, in-car delivery of popcorn and other ordered sweet treats from the Rockford Theatre Friday evening. All returning home to enjoy popcorn and TV.
Shirley Packard has been staying home, watching TV and doing her favorite thing, reading, riding out this virus thing. Sunday, son Calvin Packard, delivered one of those tasty turkey dinners from the Rockford Café to mom. Later in the day, there was a quick delivery of four loaves of bread.
Janet Laube has kept out of mischief these days by taking Yip Yip for rides around town. Sunday, be- ing late husband Leo’s 89th birthday, she drove to Prairie Home Cemetery with some flowers and found herself calling for help as she backed a little too far one way and got stuck. Help came. Soon she was safely back home. Later Janet tattled on herself through phone calls to and from Lois Ackert, Fargo, Niece Rhonda and Bill Berglund and niece Robin Nelson also of Fargo. Messages between all being, stay home.
Todd and Karen Koepplin were helpers over the weekend at daughter Allyssa and Ross Lewis’s home in Dickinson. Little Kenna was happy. Grandpa and daddy put up a swing set and she soon learned how fun that was. Some yard work was done. Ross is able to go to work during the COVID-19 thing. Allyssa has taken time away from her paramedic employment. The Lewis’s wait the arrival of a baby boy in May. Keeping in touch with family during this COVID-19 thing has found the family of Frederick and Dianne Allmaras having a family reunion of sorts every Sunday evening as they connect, see and talk to all at the same time through their computer and something called Zoom, on a split-screen. This week they heard of a first loose tooth, a cold dunk and sunglasses for baby.
Sunday, Candy Jensen enjoyed a turkey dinner delivered by Terry and Sandy Koepplin from the Rockford Café. It was a welcomed treat. Candy had made a banana cream pie and traded a couple of pieces for the turkey dinner. Later niece Teresa Sather, of Fargo called to make sure Candy was fine and staying in. All’s fine with the Sather family. And yes Candy is staying in with her life support and caretakers, Iris and Blossom, sister cats. Great company.
Niece Jody Bergman of Thief River Falls, Minn., was happy to get Aunt Candy Jensen’s text full of 63rd birthday greetings the 28th of March. The Bergmans are safe and sound.
