Easter weekend is upon us and we want to emphasize the importance of social distancing of six feet and limiting contact to your own household members. This means that families may not be able to gather for Easter, but there are other ways to get together with technology. There are many options for web, video conferencing such as Zoom, Skype, GoToMeeting, ReadyTalk, etc. Please take these recommendations seriously.
SCAMS!!!! Please be aware of some possible scams that are starting to circulate regarding Covid-19. Some people are receiving phone calls, text messages or emails from scammers who try to sell them test kits for Covid-19, special health insurance or promoting medicine that is a cure for Covid-19. The scammers are asking for financial and personal identification information. There are NO test kits available to be purchased by the public at this time. Please do not give out any personal or financial information to these scammers.
There are reports (not in Eddy County yet) that some people are going door to door trying to sell Covid-19 test kits. Once again there are NO test kits available to be purchased by the public.
Please do not give out any information if someone calls, texts or emails you in regards to the stimulus checks that the Federal Government is issuing.
