Get the Care19 App
The Care19 App is now available on Google Play or the App Store. This app will assign you a random ID number and will store your locations or places you visit for longer than 10 minutes. You can go into the app and then categorize the places that are stored such as grocery store or workplace etc. This will help remind you of the places you have been or people you may have been in contact with. If you test positive for COVID-19 then you can give consent for your information to be provided to the State of North Dakota Department of Health. They will use it for contact tracing. If you have any questions concerning the Care19 app please visit http://www.ndresponse.gov/covid-19-resources/care19 or http://www.health.nd.gov/diseases-conditions/coronavirus.
Cloth Masks Recommended
It is recommended for people to be wearing some sort of face-covering such as a cloth mask when you are in a public setting. The CDC recommends the cloth masks should:
• Fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face
• Be secured with ties or ear loops
• Include multiple layers of fabric
• Allow for breathing without restriction
• Be able to be laundered and machine dried without damage or change to shape.
After you remove the cloth mask, do not touch your face, eyes, nose or mouth until you wash your hands and/or use hand sanitizer. You should always wash the cloth mask immediately after you are done wearing it. Please visit http://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/diy-cloth-face-coverings.html for more information on how to wear, wash and make cloth face masks.
Quarantine Required after Out of State Travel
Just a reminder, if you have traveled outside of North Dakota you are required to quarantine for 14 days after your return to North Dakota. This is pursuant to North Dakota Century Code §23-01-05(12) Order # 2020-02.1. The following people are exempt from this order:
• People commuting to and from North Dakota for work or essential supplies and services.
• People engaging in outdoor activities, as long as they remain 6 feet apart from individuals from other households.
• Essential critical infrastructure workers, defined by the United States Department of Homeland Security.
If you need to quarantine then you may do this at your home or residence, which includes hotels, motels, rented lodging, shelters or similar facilities. You will still need to self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms. You can be charged with a Class B misdemeanor if you fail to follow the quarantine order. (North Dakota Century Code §23-07-6-02(3)) Please visit http://www.health.nd.gov for more information on essential workers and the complete list of quarantine requirements.
