Susie Sharp of the Eddy-New Rockford Library announced today (Tuesday) that the local library will reopen Wednesday, May 6 with several operational changes.
"We can't wait to see you all but some things will look a little different when the library first opens up. We will start out slowly," Sharp said.
Patrons are asked to observe the following to keep everyone safe:
--Hours will be Monday to Friday 12 pm - 6 pm
--Fines will continue to be waived through the month of May.
--Local delivery and curbside pick-up will continue to be offered for those who would rather not come into the library yet.
--Anyone who is feeling unwell should not come into the library and instead opt for delivery or curbside pick-up.
--Patrons will be encouraged to select items and leave in a timely manner.
--All patrons are asked to wear a mask for the health and safety of both the staff and patrons. Social distancing is encouraged.
--Please put all returns in the book drop not at desk.
--There will be two chairs set up, 6 feet apart, for patrons who wish to use the library's wireless connection on his or her own device.
--Only one computer will be available, and it's usage will be limited to adults for business only, i.e. job searching, unemployment applications, printing, etc. No loitering, no games.
--Any child 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult. There will be no toys, and they will be asked to select books and leave.
--Summer Reading as of right now will be virtual. More info on this to come.
--The Meeting room is also closed until further notice. Groups who use the space for meetings should contact Susie at 947-5540.
--The Bathrooms will be closed to the public.
--Book donations are not accepted at this time.
