Sunday visitors and supper guests at the Eloise Lucht home were Jay and Heidi Schneider, Caleb and Callie from Devils Lake.
Rick Koepplin was a guest and helper at the Candy Jensen home over the weekend.
Saturday morning found Amanda Bickett delivering a vase of fresh picked fragrant lilacs to Mom and Dad Ken and Marvis Holte.
Travelers Cheryl and Dave Gabbert visited the National Veterans Cemetery in Sturgis, S.D., on Memorial Day. They especially paid respect at the grave of Frank Struck, the uncle of Shirley Packard. He was a cowboy in every sense of the word. Not only did Frank cowboy on ranches in Montana, he also traveled around with his Palomino horse Cheyenne. He also entertained, cracking tricks with his bullwhip which earned the title “Ole Lightnin Struck.” In October of 1995, the Transcript featured a picture and story on Frank. The Gabberts have left South Dakota and are motoring to Cody, Wyo.
Tuesday morning found Shirley Packard and Calvin among those who attended funeral service at Evans Funeral Home in New Rockford for Joseph Troske with Pastor Richard Biberdorf of Grace Lutheran Church of Carrington officiating.
Janet Laube enjoyed a phone chat from sister-in-law, Lois Ockert one evening. Janet and Yip Yip stopped briefly at the Charlotte Koepplin home recently.
Tuesday afternoon Calvin Packard and Mom Shirley ran some errands in Carrington.
Friday Ken and Marvis Holte enjoyed a chance meeting with Alice Norton. They had a good masked visit. The Holtes also heard from son Loren from Bismarck that he is recuperating from a recent rib injury.
Janet Laube and Yip Yip and Charlotte Koepplin drove to Grace City and enjoyed dinner at the School House Cafe and visited the cemetery there.
