Official Newspaper of Eddy County since 1883
Introducing the newest member of the Eddy County Sheriff's Department: Deputy Bennett Sauve. Deputy Sauve grew up in Thief River Falls, Minn., just about an hour east of Grand Forks. Sauve found his passion for law enforcement when he enrolled at Northland Community College in Thief River Falls and began his studies in criminal justice.
The aspects of law enforcement that intrigued him the most were the different scenarios and experiences he would gain working in public safety. He also sees it as an opportunity to be part of something bigger, a community.
As far as his experience, Deputy Suave is pretty new to the scene but is very well educated and equipped to become a great officer and an integral member of the community. Deputy Sauve has gained three years of experience already, with two years of service in Beadle County, S.D. followed by six months in Stutsman County.
When asked what he thought was the most important part of law enforcement, he explained that it's all about being able to have a positive relationship built on trust with the community that officers are sworn to protect.
