Kindra Jacobson's family is ready to watch her walk the stage. Each graduate was allotted eight place settings for immediate family around an elegantly set table. The tables were arranged 6 ft. apart across the entire gym floor.

Waylyn Davis was one of the honor student speakers at the ceremony. Hannah Haley also spoke, and the keynote was delivered by Fr. Reese Weber.

It was a scene the likes of which hadn't been seen before in the New Rockford- Sheyenne gymnasium on Sunday, June 21. The 21 graduates of the Class of 2020 sat 6 ft. apart on the stage, and their families gathered around intimate tables each decorated especially for their graduate. With no band playing or choir singing due to COVID-19 restrictions, music for the processional and recessional was provided by Nick Hovey and Jared Hartl on trumpet, accompanied by music director Annette Hovey. The special musical number, "Down in the river to pray", was performed by a small group of NR-S choir members and alumni.
