On July 21, the New Rockford Independent team faced off against Jamestown at Jack Brown Stadium. Initially the game was scheduled for July 20, but was cancelled midway through
the second inning due to intense rainfall. During these innings, the Black Sox had gotten off to a great start with three runs by Kaden Jensen, Alex Harrison and Koven Walford.
On Tuesday, July 21 they resumed the game where they left off at the bottom of the second inning. The new day seemed to give Jamestown new life as they scored two runs to tie the game, preventing the Black Sox from having any advantages.
In the third inning, the Sox were unsuccessful in getting anything going as they didn't add any runs and gave Jamestown a one-run lead. The fourth inning, however, also went Jamestown's way as they added two more runs and extended their lead to three.
In the fifth and final inning, the Black Sox got it going with a run by Harrison, but their streak ended there. Jamestown then took advantage of New Rockford's defense and scored eight runs in the inning leading to the final score of 14-4.
The Black Sox record on the season drops to 9-4 as they look to prepare for the regionals in this last week of baseball.
