The Black Sox ended the season with a loss in Jamestown putting them at a 9-4 record when it comes to league games. Eight total games were played and it was evident that Black Sox Nathan Holzwarth was one of the key components to their success. Holzwarth, who played in every game this summer, led the team in hits, triples, home runs, runs batted in, runs, and overall batting average with 40% at theplate. He also contributed on the field, leading in most assists and had the fourth-highest fielding percentage.
Alex Harrison was also a very important part of the Sox’s success from the pitcher’s mound. Out of the five Black Sox pitchers this summer, Harrison was at the mound the most, with around 27 innings played. He ended the season with a total of 21 strikeouts and 420 pitches, of these pitches he had almost 300 total strikes and 128 balls. Harrison was also second in batting, as he led in singles and followed Holzwarth in hits, runs batted in, total runs and overall batting average with 38.1% at the plate.
Another notable Black Sox player was Koby Duda, catcher for SNR. He led the team in total chances and putouts, preventing defenders from scoring at home base. Duda had a 27.8 average of catching players stealing bases. He had a total of five instances when he caught the opposing team trying to steal. Others in the field that helped contribute were Colter Soderholm and Kaden Jensen. Soderholm, aside from Duda, had the most total chances with 38, and 35 of those were putouts. Jensen added to that with around 30 total chances and 15 putouts.
Overall, the Black Sox finished 9-4 on the season coming in at second in their division.
