Obituary: David Bort

David Lloyd Bort, 42, passed away on October 14, 2020, at the Bort family farm.

A private funeral service was held Friday, Oct. 23 at Evans Funeral Home in Carrington. Burial was at Carrington Cemetery. Service was officiated by Rick Loewen. Honorary bearers were Peyton, Lillian, Xavier and Xandria. Military honors by North Dakota National Guard funeral honors team.

David was born on April 5, 1978, at Grand Forks, N.D. He attended Carrington School and graduated with a GED from the State of North Dakota

He married Rebecca Ardis on November 17, 2003, at the Foster County Courthouse and they then lived in Minot.

As a child, David enjoyed being on the farm and was proud to be the fourth generation to live there.

David loved to cook and work as a restaurant cook. He also enjoyed gardening and canning the produce. He was especially proud of his dill pickles.

He was a member of the Federated Church in Carrington.

He was preceded by his dad, Rodney.

David is survived by his mother Connie; and children, Peyton, Lillian, Xavier and Xandria.
