New Rockford-Sheyenne's regular season came to an end Tuesday evening, November 3, and their four-match winning streak went by the wayside to North Star, 19-25, 20-25 and 15-25.
In the loss, both Chloe Heinz and Kayahna Hopfauf led the Rockets with nine kills each. Dani Bjerke led both in assists, with 19, and hit the Bearcats' back court for three aces.
Hopfauf elevated for four stuff blocks, and Cassie Longnecker finished with 17 digs.
The Rockets (11-5) earned the number three seed in the Region 4 Volleyball Tournament, and took on number six HWC (5-9) in the quarterfinal round in the NR-S Gym last Tuesday night.

Behind Hopfauf's 14 kills, NR-S advanced to the semifinal round with a three-set win, 25-18, 25-12 and 25-15.
McKayla Waldo also had six kills in the victory over the Hornets, while Kelsie Belquist finished with five.
Longnecker and Heinz carried the play in the back court with 19 and 12 digs, respectively, and Longnecker finished with a team-high three aces. Bjerke also added 31 assists.
By virtue of their win, NR-S earned a rematch with North Star (13-3), the second seed in the tournament, in last Thursday's semifinals.
The championship round, with a trip to the Fargodome for the State Class B Tournament on November 19-21 as the prize, was held Saturday night, November 14.
