New Rockford-Sheyenne senior offensive/defensive lineman Hunter Johnson was selected to the Nine-Man All-State Football Second Team, members of which are chosen by the North Dakota High School Coaches' Association (NDHSCA).
The 6'2", 240-pound Johnson, son of August and Georgia Johnson and Rhonda Miller, highlighted play for the Rockets in a season ultimately cut short to just five games by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Johnson was named to the All-Region 2 First Team the previous week, along with teammates Johnny Grann and Kaden Jensen. Honorable Mention players were Nick Berglund and Koby Duda.
Statewide winners for the end-of-the year awards in Nine-Man football were Lucas Schumacher of state champion Linton-HMB as Senior Athlete of the Year, while Sandy Laxdal of runner-up Cavalier was Coach of the Year.
