Pepper Martin of Graham, Wash., is accused of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia (meth). She was initially stopped for speeding on October 2, then a subsequent search of her vehicle yielded multiple torch lights, a glass smoking device and a hose believed to be used to ingest meth. She pleaded not guilty on Nov. 12, and a pre-trial conference is set for Jan. 14.
On Nov. 7, Virginia M. Fassett of St. Michael was charged with Class C felony possession of drug paraphernalia, as well as misdemeanor offenses of possession of controlled substance and providing false information to law enforcement. Authorities allege Fassett admitted to using syringes to self-inject oxycodone and gave the deputy her sister’s name, Lesleann Fassett, when asked for identification. This is her second related offense, as she was convicted in Pierce County in 2019. She had suboxone pills in her possession, prompting the misdemeanor charge. Fassett pleaded not guilty to the misdemeanor charges on Nov. 12, and she was assessed a $150 fine for possession of marijuana paraphernalia, an infraction. The preliminary hearing/arraignment for the felony charge is set for Dec. 10.
Jeffery Hulbert of Carrington was cited for using an electronic device while driving, care required, and driving without liability insurance on Nov. 7. He was assessed $280 in fines and fees.
Hulbert’s passenger, Jessica Lunde of Maddock, was arrested for misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia (meth). She was released on a $300 cash bond, then pleaded not guilty on Nov. 12. An infraction for possession of marijuana was dismissed in the case. Her pre-trial conference is set for Jan. 14.
Thomas Kortendick of Franksville, Wisc., received a Game & Fish citation for using a shotgun capable of holding more than three shells on Oct. 21. He pleaded guilty to the charge and was assessed a $25 fine.
Three Feathers Morin of Fargo has been charged with driving under suspension. The incident occurred on Oct. 28. He pleaded not guilty, and a pre-trial conference is set for Jan. 14.
Colleen R. Chaske of Oberon was arrested for driving under the influence on Oct. 29. After posting a $300 cash bond, she pleaded guilty to the offense and was assessed a $500 fine plus $250 in court fees. She is also subject to 360 days of unsupervised probation.
A warrant has been issued for Daniel Charboneau of St. Michael, who failed to appear in court for a hearing. He faces a misdemeanor charge of driving under suspension. His appearance bond is set at $300 cash.

Deana Neurohr of Selz, N.D., faces a Class C felony charge of possession of a controlled substance (meth) and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia (meth). The charges stemmed from an Oct. 24 traffic stop, where Neurohr was initially stopped for speeding. Her initial appearance is set for Dec. 10. She also faces numerous open charges in Wells County, including possession of controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, ingesting a controlled substance and obstruction of driver’s view, which were filed on Nov. 30. Her initial appearance in that case is set for Dec. 9. Neurohr was previously convicted of charges related to the 2017 Alexander Lail drug case in Wells and Eddy counties.
Marcus Curley of St. Michael was sentenced Nov. 12 for misdemeanor driving under suspension. He was stopped on Eddy County 1 east of Sheyenne on Aug. 12, then later pleaded guilty to the charge. Judge Hovey suspended his 2-day jail sentence and assessed him $350 in fines and fees. He is also subject to 360 days of unsupervised probation.
Jennifer C. Robertson was also charged with driving under suspension. The incident occurred on Oct. 9 along U.S. Hwy. 281. She pleaded not guilty on Nov. 12, and a pre-trial conference in the case is set for Jan. 14.
Schylar D. Abell faces his seventh driving under suspension (DUS) charge in the past 5 years. He was arrested on Oct. 9 in downtown New Rockford, right at the corner of Central Avenue and Eighth Street. He pleaded not guilty to the charge on Nov. 12, and his pre-trial conference is set for Jan. 14. Abell was previously convicted of DUS in Stutsman County (2016), Valley City (2016), Wells County (2016), twice in Barnes County (2018) and in Foster County (2019).
Loren J. Anderson faces a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest. The offense was committed on Oct. 8, when an Eddy County Sheriff's deputy identified Anderson at the Sheyenne Bar as a person with an outstanding warrant. According to the complaint, when the deputy notified Anderson of the outstanding warrant and that he was being detained, the defendant first walked out of the bar away from the deputy, then attempted to re-enter the Sheyenne Bar. Authorities allege that Anderson continued to disregard the commands of the deputy, so the deputy employed his taser on the defendant. Anderson then allegedly ripped the taser prongs out of his chest and again attempted to re-enter the bar. The deputy used a takedown maneuver to arrest the suspect with the assistance of another bar patron. Anderson pleaded not guilty to the charge, and is due for a pre-trial conference on Jan. 14.
Brian W. Hull of Sykeston was sentenced for Class C Felony possession of drug paraphernalia (methamphetamines) on Nov. 12. Per the plea agreement, he received a 360 day suspended jail sentence and is subject to 2 years probation. He also has an open misdemeanor case in Wells County for ingesting a controlled substance. Hull was previously convicted of numerous drug-related crimes in Wells County last year. In January, he was ordered to serve a one-year sentence at the Tompkins Rehabilitation and Treatment Center in Bismarck. He had been released early and was on probation.
Bryer R. Shaw of Ft. Totten was convicted of Class C Felony driving under the influence and misdemeanor driving under suspension on Nov. 12. He was arrested on Eddy County 1 on Aug. 22 after a breathalyzer test revealed that his blood alcohol concentration was 0.156%, nearly twice the legal limit. He was also cited for open container, tinted windows, driving without liability insurance and a registration violation. He began his 1-year and1-day jail sentence at the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation on Nov. 30. Upon release, Shaw will be subject to 2 years supervised probation and ordered to pay a $2,000 fine and $560 in court fees.
This habitual offender has numerous alcohol and traffic-related crimes on his record dating back to 2009. He has three prior DUI convictions in Ramsey County (2013, 2015 and 2018). He also has four DUS convictions, three in Ramsey County and one in Devils Lake Municipal Court.
Daniel B. Herman of Ft. Totten will stand trial on Dec. 11 for driving under suspension and driving under the influence.
Brian S. Pearson will also stand trial on Dec. 11, facing his third driving under suspension offense in 5 years. He was previously convicted in the City of Grand Forks (2018) and in Nelson County (2018). He also had open warrants in two additional DUS cases in the City of Devils Lake and City of Grand Forks at the time of his arrest.
