Evan Ulrich, son of Chad and Kali Clelland of New Rockford, has signed a letter of intent to play men's basketball at the University of Jamestown beginning in 2021.
The 6'6" center, who will begin his senior season at NR-S this month, averaged 13.2 points last season for the Rockets, along with 9.4 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game in his first year as a full-time starter. He has also shown some pop from beyond the arc, as one of the Rockets' top three-point shooters with 45 treys. Last year, NR-S concluded with an overall mark of 15-8 and a Region 4 Tournament appearance, after qualifying for the State Class B Tournament the previous season.
He joins a Jamestown program which finished 18-13 last season and 9-11 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC). Thus far in 2020, under sixth-year Head Coach Danny Neville, the Jimmies are 6-2 and 3-1 in conference play.
