The boys basketball season is underway at New Rockford-Sheyenne School. The team played Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Johnny Grann is a member of the team.

Baby Dutton Grann was baptized at the Bethlehem Catholic Church in Bathgate on Sunday. In attendance were his parents, Ben and Brittany, his grandparents, John and Donna Grann and Brittany’s family.

Scott and Marilyn Thompson visited Todd and Nadley Buehler last Sunday.

Randy Simon visited the Buehler family Friday.

Hunter Buehler visited the Ihry family in Valley City to help celebrate his fiancée, Grace and her twin brother, Sam’s birthday on Wednesday.

Joe and Elisa Wentz, Beau, Bria and Brittin Buehler and Benji, Breana and Michael Pacheco, Waylon and Mavis, Grace Ihry, Hunter and Maverick celebrated Christmas together on Saturday at the Buehler farm, and birthdays on Sunday. Elisa, Grace and Joe have December/January birthdays.

Lester Roberts kept a medical appointment on Tuesday.

Lester enjoyed a phone call from his sister, Jean in Mesa, Ariz., one day this week.

Wednesday, Lester visited David and Bonnie Nelson.

Last Sunday night, Charlotte Simon was one of the volunteers who made and served hot chocolate for Santa’s Workshop at the Light the Night event in Maddock, sponsored by the Maddock Opera House Association.

Charlotte visited her mother, Joan Bosch at the Care Center in Rugby on Monday.

Tuesday, Charlotte attended the Harriman’s Coffee House Christmas dinner and party for the volunteers, respecting social distancing.

Randy and Charlotte went to Easton’s first Junior High basketball game against North Star in Cando on Thursday.

Saturday, Randy and Charlotte visited Charlotte’s mom at the Care Center in Rugby.

Cathy Caulfield of Jamestown and Carrie Prince of Oberon were Saturday and Sunday overnight guests at Melodie Madson’s home.

Saturday afternoon, Carrie, Cathy, Melodie and Linda managed to make lefse. There was flour everywhere and some odd-shaped lefse, but it tasted like it is supposed to. A good time was had by all.

Saturday evening, Kennedee and McKenzee Madson presented a show they put together to entertain the adults. They played two Christmas songs on their string instruments, Kennedee on her cello and McKenzee on her viola. They also sang solos and duets, told some jokes and did a dance routine. They did an excellent job and this great-grandma is bragging and very proud of them.

Sunday morning, Dave and Linda joined the girls at Melodie’s home and enjoyed a lovely breakfast.

Sunday evening, everyone had supper at Dave and Linda’s home.
