Jean Marie Irmen, 68, Minot, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 27, 2020 in her home.
Jean Marie was born on July 3, 1952, a daughter of Arthur and Alberta (Klumph) Irmen in New Rockford, N.D. She was raised and educated in New Rockford, graduating from St. James High School in 1970. Jeani furthered her education by attending the North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, where she graduated as an LPN.
She began a career in healthcare by working at the Carrington Nursing home. She moved to Minot, where her only child Nate was born to her and Charles Blue. Jeani worked for St. Joseph's Hospital, Trinity Health and St. Alexis Medical Center, retiring in 2018.
In 1999, she met her life partner Michael Schumacher in Minot. Together they enjoyed watching the grandchildren's events, attending the Moondance Country Jam in Walker, Minn., and having weekly suppers with the family. In her early years she enjoyed playing softball. Jeani spent countless hours with her sisters, enjoyed attending craft shows, playing bingo, reading and crossword puzzles. She was a loving companion, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be missed by all that knew her.
Jeani is survived by: Companion Michael Schumacher; son Nate (Michelle) Irmen; two grandchildren Jasmine and Kobe; siblings: Carol (Darryl) Galt, Bill (Andrea) Irmen Sr., Susan (Roger) Carmody, Tom (Nancy) Irmen, Rita Irmen, Jackie "Runt" (Bruce) Krebsbach, Mitch "Lurch" (Heidi) Irmen; brother-in-law Bill Schollmeyer; many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Jeani was preceded in death by her parents, sister Virginia Schollmeyer, and her favorite pet cat Sadie.
Visitation: There will be no reviewal as cremation has taken place, however, friends may sign a guest register on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, one hour prior to the service at St. Therese Church of the Little Flower Catholic Church, Minot

Burial: A private family committal service will take place at a later date in the summer of 2021.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial are preferred to Minot State Summer Theatre and Souris Valley Animal Shelter.
