Up in Smoke

Public Works Superintendent Bruce Hirchert set ablaze the remnants of the historic 2018 wind storm. The huge pile of debris from hundreds of trees toppled in the July 8, 2018 storm went up in smoke in dramatic fashion on Monday, January 11. The intense heat from the fire could be felt from across the road, and the distinct aroma of burning wood captured the noses of residents when the wind shifted to blow from the east days later.
