The Rockets girls and boys basketball teams headed to Langdon on Saturday, January 30 to take on the Cardinals in their home gym. The girls basketball team was defeated 46-16 while the boys basketball team held on until the end with a loss of 55-51.
The Rocket girls had a low scoring game. Kayahna Hopfauf held the most points for the Rockets with four. Cassie Longnecker, Dani Bjerke, Kennedy Demester and Kelsie Belquist each brought in three total points.
While the Rockets had low scores, the top scorer for the Cardinals was Jaya Henderson with 19 total points. Lexis Olson was also in the double figures with 13 total points.
For the Rocket boys, Nick Berglund led the team with 16 points. Also in double figures were Johnny Grann with 15 points and Evan Ulrich with 14 points. The Rockets kept up with the Cardinals most of the game with only being behind by a few points each quarter.
Simon Romfo led the Cardinals to victory with 16 total points. Not too far behind S. Romfo’s 16 were Jack Romfo with 14 points and Jagger Worley with 12 points.
