DPRCA to resume live performances of "Honky Tonk Laundry"

DPRCA is back on stage, and they are picking up right where they left off last March!

"Honky Tonk Laundry," a new musical from Roger Bean, abruptly ended when the pandemic hit, and after a year-long hiatus, the cast and crew are ready to resume this fun show.

Move over, Thelma and Louise! When Lana Mae Hopkins, owner and proprietress of the Wishy Washy Washateria, hires Katie to help out in the laundromat, they soon find themselves up to their elbows in soap, suds, and cheatin' hearts. Watch these two country angels join forces to turn their good ol' laundromat into a bootscootin' honky-tonk, exacting a touch of revenge against those that done 'em wrong, all while guaranteeing every customer a good, clean time!

This musical will take you right to Nashville- featuring music from many of country music's biggest female names, including Carrie Underwood, Trisha Yearwood, Martina McBride, Reba McEntire, Sara Evans, The Dixie Chicks, Chely Wright, Dolly Parton, Pam Tillis, Gretchen Wilson, Terri Cark, Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn and Patsy Cline!

Honky Tonk Laundry features local talent Susie Sharp and Jacee Engels. There are just nine live performances from March 26 through April 18, with showtimes at 7:30 p.m. Friday and 2:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Tickets range in price from $10 to $25, with kids 10-years-old and under $10, students 11-years-old and up $15, and $25 for adults. Reserve your seats by calling the DPRCA box office at 701-947-2174. Seating is limited to 50% capacity to keep patrons safe, so make sure to book your seats early if you want to see this one live!

In accordance with pandemic safety precautions, patrons should note that masks are required in the theatre. The Bistro will not be open for this performance, so DPRCA encourages all to support local restaurants when coming to town for the event. Weekend lunch is available at Rockford Cafe, and Friday night dinner is served at the New Rockford Eagles Club, New Rockford Golf Course and Midnight Munchies (inside Buck-its).

Plans are underway to make "Honky Tonk Laundry" the first DPRCA performance available for streaming! For updates and information about when and how you can stream the performance, watch the DPRCA Facebook page.
