May the luck of the Irish be with you this St. Patrick's Day! The New Rockford Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting its second annual Shamrock Shimmy local shopping event. On Wednesday, March 17 only, make a purchase at any four local businesses on the list of 15, and have the clerks mark your lucky Shamrock card. When all four leaves are marked, fill out your name, phone number and/or email and drop the filled card in the drum at the Transcript office or in the specially marked box at the New Rockford Eagles Club. On Thursday, March 18 at noon, a drawing will be held for one $50 and two $25 Chamber bucks prizes!
Participating businesses as of press time included Do It Best Hardware, NAPA Auto Parts, Miller's Fresh Foods, Cendak Cooperative, Central Pharmacy, New Rockford Transcript, Beyond the Brand Boutique, Casey's, Bakers Dozen, Flower Scent'R, Log Cabin Liquors, Buck-its Bar, Latte Lobby, Rockford Cafe and the New Rockford Eagles Club.

Central Pharmacy is having a sale all week long, offering 20% off ALL gifts. Their Shamrock Shimmy special on Wednesday only is an extra 20% off anything in the clearance section. They will also be sampling their new sugar & spice and coffee & cream pretzel bites from Outsiders Kitchen & Cafe.
The Transcript staff will be decked out in St. Patrick's Day green, and the deals in-store will be as good as gold! Pick a coin from our pot o'gold to get great discounts on in-stock decorated apparel. There are still some great items left from the fall/winter Rockets line, as well as spring apparel for babies and kids. Sign up for door prizes to be given away. Online subscriptions to the newspaper will be $5 off that day too! Beginning at 10 a.m., kids are invited to come get creative with us while mom/dad/grandma shops! They can paint a St. Patrick's Day themed sun catcher or color a St. Patrick's Day coloring sheet, and their artwork will be showcased in our store window. Supplies are limited, so stop in early for best availability.
Beyond the Brand Boutique will be popping up in the Soul Space Work studio on Central Avenue. Other businesses will be offering in-store specials, so you'll have to stop in to find out what they have to offer!
All participating businesses will have big green four-leaf clovers in their store window/door so you know where to go to get great deals.
Drop off cards at the New Rockford Eagles Club or the Transcript office by noon on Thursday, March 18.
