Obituary: Mabel Hammer Walsh

Mabel passed away peacefully February 13 at the age of 92 in Bothell, Wash.

She was born to Georgeous Peter Hammer and Rose Mary Maginel Hammer and was raised in New Rockford, N.D. She was one of the youngest of 17 children, all of whom have preceded her in death except for one sister, Helen Hammer Veen who lives in Kalispell, Mont.

Mabel moved to Seattle to marry Eldon Walsh (also from New Rockford) at the age of 18. There they made their home and raised two children, Kelly Walsh Brand, who now lives in Stillwater, Minn., and Steve Walsh, who lives in Mill Creek, Wash. Her husband, Eldon, preceded her in death in 1999. In addition to her children, she is survived by five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
