Obituary: Gloria Kosse

Gloria Kathleen Kosse, 94, of Carrington, N.D., passed away on March 28, 2021 at Golden Acres Manor.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Carrington. Burial will be at the Carrington Cemetery. Father Terry Dodge will officiate the service. Casket bearers will be Erick Gisvold, Shaun Parsons, Don Kosse, Mark Kosse, John Hollingsworth and Kelvin Kosse. Honorary bearers will be Kailey Finck, Luke Motschenbacher, Sadie Motschenbacher, Kade Gisvold, Addison Gisvold, Rowan Pearson and Kayson Parsons.

She was born on Feb. 11, 1927 in Edgeley, N.D., to Harry and Evva (Norman) Peterson. She attended school in Berlin, N.D. and graduated from Central High in Fargo, N.D. Gloria worked for the Internal Revenue Service after high school.

On June 18, 1946, she was united in marriage to Elmer Kosse. They farmed in the Dickey-Berlin area for a short time. They then moved to Carrington, N.D., which became their forever home.

She, along with Elmer, were members of the Elks and the Eagles Club, along with the Carrington Golf Club. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Altar Society and Carrington Study Club.

Along with raising their family, she was an administrative assistant for the Foster County Extension office, ASCS, and the USFWS at Arrowwood Refuge.

Gloria is survived by her children: Diann Cardenas of Cleburne, Texas; Linda (Terry) Gisvold of Washburn, N.D.; Keith (Dori) Kosse of Fargo, N.D.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister: June (Jim) Larsen of Fargo, N.D.; sister-in-laws: Gladys Koke of Santa Clara, Calif.; Marilyn Kosse of Valley City, N.D.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers.
