Obituary: Arden Georgeson

Arden H. Georgeson, 84 of Heimdal, N.D., passed away Friday, May 21, 2021 at St. Aloisius Hospital, Harvey, N.D.

Funeral service was on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Nelson Funeral Home, Fessenden, N.D., with Pastor Shirley Teske officiating. Burial was at the Hoff Lutheran Cemetery, Heimdal.

Arden Henry Georgeson was born Dec. 4, 1936, the son of Ames and Hilda (Solheim) Georgeson on the family farm near Heimdal, N.D. He attended school in Heimdal through the 10th grade and graduated from Fessenden High School. He worked on the family farm, milking cows and raising crops. He also did carpentry, which included helping build the Manfred Elevator, and backhoe excavating.

On Oct. 7, 1961, he married Linda Johnson at the Little Brown Church in Nashwa, Iowa. They moved to a farm north of Heimdal and raised their two daughters, Lisa and Michelle.

Arden was a member of Hoff Lutheran Church until its closure. He loved farming and the smell of freshly tilled soil. Arden had a passion for the Heimdal Hall Restoration. He loved talking on the phone, "finding out the news". He was a regular at Josie's Café. Arden also enjoyed his motorized vehicles, Harley Davidson, Indian Motorcycle, 55 Ford pink and white automobile, and the old Heimdal Fire Truck. He loved to go ice fishing with his friends, Lewis D. and Don S. Arden's pride and joy were his daughters and grandson whom he loved to take along to check the fields.

Arden is survived by his wife, Linda, Heimdal, N.D.; daughters Lisa (David) Harrison, Verona, Wisc.; and Michelle Georgeson, Gackle, N.D.; grandson, Austin, Madison, Wisc.; sisters Jeanette (Jon) Meyers, Mae Pepple, Donna (Charles) Brown, Carol Jensen and Judy James; brothers-in-law Frank (Joni) Johnson and Glenn Rudel; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Sybel Johnson and Arlene Rudel;brothers-in-law Don Johnson, Don Pepple, Richard Jensen, Nyle James and Carl Johnson.
