New Rockford and area folks extend sympathy to the family of Beaty Engels.
The Eloise Lucht home was a busy place for a few days this past week. It all started when her son Scott and Kim Lucht arrived from Rochester, Minn. on Tuesday. Wednesday, Eloise, Scott and Kim drove to Devils Lake and visited Heidi Schneider, Callie and Caleb, and then met Glen and Ardie Salisbury and Dawn Stoe, enjoying a visit over a café lunch. Then, it was back to New Rockford. Wednesday afternoon, son Larry and Irene Lucht and Kevin, and Pete and Amanda Prikals and Jason, all from Virginia, arrived. Evening found Larry grilling some mighty fine chicken thighs, which were served with corn on the cob and a salad, and all enjoyed supper. Thursday morning, all went to Prairie Home Cemetery and visited their father Martin Lucht’s grave. Also Thursday, Scott drove Eloise to an eye appointment in Grand Forks while the others enjoyed a country drive touring the Devils Lake area. Evening found them joined by Jay and Heidi Schneider and Callie and Caleb, enjoying more visiting and a good grilled pork loin with ranch potatoes and salad. All said their goodbyes on Friday morning, and they were on their way back home after a short, but sweet, very enjoyable couple of days.
Janet Laube drove to Carrington on Thursday where she kept an eye appointment.
Shirley Packard’s daughter Cheryl and Dave Gabbert are continuing their travels. They have enjoyed camping in Newport News, Virginia. They have visited with Bill Womacks Jr. and his wife Flo, and Bill Womacks Sr. and wife Danielle, at Virginia Beach, Vir. They spent a week in Pittsburgh and at present are headed for Connecticut.
Great-grandson Weston, son of Mitch and Amber Sylling, was proud to show grandma Margie Anderson his diploma and computer after he had graduated from Devils Lake preschool.
Brief stopper at the Shirley Packard home on Sunday was nephew Todd Harrison.
