On Thursday, June 10, the New Rockford Babe Ruth team traveled to Devils Lake and played two games, winning the first in a four-inning blow out 16-3, and narrowly losing the second 6-5 in five innings.
New Rockford scored runs in all four innings of the first game. Every hitter scored a run. Brody Weisenburger led the Sox with three hits, three runs and two RBIs. Kage Walford and DJ Mudgett also contributed with three RBIs each.
DJ Mudgett started the game, pitched one inning and earned the win. Keaton Cudworth pitched well in his three innings of work to finish the game. Coby Dronen-Levitt started for Devils Lake, gave up 10 runs in two innings, and took the loss.

In the second game, both starting pitchers had rough starts. Shaun Reimche started for the Black Sox, pitched the first inning and gave up four runs. Garrison Elfman started for Devils Lake, pitched two innings and gave up all five of the runs that NR scored. Elfman was relieved by the eventual game winner, Riley Johansson, in the third inning. Alex Weisenburger pitched well in his three innings of relief for the Sox, but he took the loss.
NR scored first, but Devils Lake countered with four runs in the bottom of the first. NR came back to take the lead by scoring four runs of their own in the top of the second. Devils Lake tied up the game in the bottom of the second, and took the lead in the bottom of the fourth. Devils Lake was able to hold NR scoreless in the fifth to secure the win.
Alex Weisenburger, in addition to his pitching effort, also had a good game at the plate going 2-4 with three RBIs and a run. Bradyn Collier, Jackson Schumacher and Dashyl Bichler also had hits in the game.
