Babe Ruth takes two from Devils Lake

Devils Lake came to New Rockford to play two five-inning games on July 1. The Sox were able to win both games.

In game one, NR-S won the game 10-0 in three innings. Keaton Cudworth pitched a no-hit shutout. Only two players for Devils Lake were allowed to reach base. Eight of nine Sox batters reached base. Alex Weisenburger had the best game at the plate with two hits and two RBIs.

The score in the second game was closer and all five innings were played. Devils Lake was able to score three runs in the first inning off of starter Shaun Reimche. The Sox answered back with three of their own in the bottom of the first, off of DL starter Riley Johansson.

The score remained tied at three until the bottom of the fourth, when Connor Knatterud scored on an RBI single by Bradyn Collier. Knatterud remained in the game to pitch the fifth and was able to shut the door on Devils Lake to preserve the win.
