New Rockford Post #30 avenged their earlier loss to Carrington Post #25 on July 1. The Black Sox soundly defeated the Redbirds 12-2 in six innings.
Carrington started the scoring with a single run in the first inning, but the Sox took the lead, scoring six runs in the second, and never looked back. All of the NR-S starters reached base in the game. Caden Price, Alex Harrison, Nick Berglund, Koby Duda, Johnny Grann and Luke Yri all had two hits each.
Harrison got the start on the mound and was masterful in his performance. He pitched all six innings and gave up just six hits and two runs, with no walks and seven strikeouts. Austin Trelstad started for the Redbirds, gave up ten runs and took the loss. He was relieved by Noah Paulson who allowed the final two runs.
With the win, NR-S goes to the top of the district standings. The Sox are 11-2 on the season, and 5-1 in the district standings. Carrington dropped to 5-2 overall, and 5-2 in the district.
