Wednesday, Lester Roberts was a guest of Stan and Marilyn Kruger at their home in rural Sheyenne. He enjoyed supper and visiting at their depot, which was once located in Sheyenne.
Lester and Lezlee Thorson traveled to Grand Forks on Thursday. They watched grandson, six-year-old Aiden Thorson, play baseball. Aiden is the son of Ryan and Megan Thorson.
Bobbi Duberowski and her husband Tom, of Parkers Prairie, Minn. visited Lester on Saturday morning.
Saturday afternoon, Lester and his friends, Midge Quam, Rita Waldorf and Helen Ridley went to Edmore to a birthday celebration for Bud and Joan Brekke at their farm.
Randy and Charlotte Simon attended the District Babe Ruth tournament in Bottineau on Monday. Their grandson, Easton Simon played, and the team defeated Harvey Babe Ruth team, and lost to the Bottineau Babe Ruth team.
The Simons were in Bismarck from Tuesday to Thursday. While Randy attended the REC statewide summer meetings, Charlotte toured the old Governor’s mansion, and went to the Shady Hollow Outdoor Theater production of Frozen Jr. An interesting fact about the old mansion: the first governor born in North Dakota, who lived in the mansion, was the 15th governor of the state, Walter Maddock. Also, my uncle Einar Tweit, helped build the old mansion.
Friday evening, Randy and Charlotte took in the 4-H Achievement Days premium sale at the Event Center in Maddock.
Randy and Charlotte attended the R.J. Darling Memorial 3 on 3 basketball tournament at Leeds Days on Sunday. Easton Simon was a participant.
Carrie Prince was a lunch guest at Dave and Linda Madson’s home on Friday.
Linda was a Sunday afternoon coffee guest at Melodie Madson’s home. A dip in the pool was included in the visit.
Brittany and Donna Grann competed in a barrel racing event at Warwick on Thursday evening. Dutton Grann went along to cheer for mom and grandma.
Gene Woolley was a supper guest, Sunday evening, at the John and Donna Grann home. Gene had a birthday on the July 15 and Johnny had a birthday on July 17, so it was a double birthday supper complete with cake. Happy belated birthday greetings to Gene and Johnny.
Lacey Grann was in Bismarck Saturday selling a horse at the Bismarck Livestock Auction monthly horse sale. Her uncle, Jim Howard of Bismarck, stopped by to visit her and watch the horses sell.
