NDSU Extension offers food preservation workshops

NDSU Extension in Eddy and Foster counties will be offering separate youth and adult canning workshops on August 17 at the Carrington High School FACS Room.

Pre-registration is required with a $20 class fee payable to Foster County Extension/ P.O. Box 80 /Courthouse, Carrington N.D. 58421. Call (701) 652-2581 to register. Spaces are limited. All participants will receive educational materials and a jar each of peach preserves, dill pickles and pressure canned green beans which participants will make in the workshop.

The youth canning workshop will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., followed by the 6 to 9 p.m. workshop for adult learners. The sessions will provide guidance on producing safe and delicious products using research-based practices.
