Bill Womacks of Virginia Beach, Va., son of the late Slim and Ida Womacks, who was born and raised in New Rockford, N.D., had a note hand delivered to be put in the Transcript as part of Talk of the Town. As you can see, on August 7, Mr. and Mrs. Ron Thompson of Fargo were on vacation in North Carolina and Virginia. Mrs. Thompson is the granddaughter of the late Lilly (Christ) Hartl. With Shannon and her husband, Ron, were their son and daughter, and a friend’s daughter, who are botanists and work at the Thomas Jefferson Memorial Plantation. As well as the Thompsons, Matt, the son of the late Renee (Hartl), and partner were part of the group. Everyone enjoyed great seafood at a well-known restaurant and then spent a couple of hours at the Womacks home laughing and talking, discussing family history. A great time was had by all. Thanks for the news, Bill.
Eloise Lucht was a house guest of her sister Ardy, and Glenn Salisbury, from Sunday to Tuesday in Devils Lake. While there, her sister Ivy Johnson arrived from Minnesota. All had a great visit and a wonderful fish supper one evening, and grandkids, Caleb and Callie Schneider were also guests.
Thursday, Calvin Packard and Kevin Johnson repaired the yard fence at the Shirley Packard home.

On Sunday, Sharon Young and Marjory Bohnet traveled to Cooperstown to enjoy Joseph Hall’s “Rock N’ Remember” tribute to Elvis Presley. Joseph’s performance was in memory of Cooperstown native Mary Stockeland, an Elvis fan and a devoted fan of Joseph Hall.
