Outdoor notes:
*Go to the N.D. Game and Fish Dept. website, (gf.nd.gov) for information regarding North Dakota’s new electronic posting regulations and assistance.
*Nov. 14: Sandhill crane season closes.
*Nov. 21: Deer gun season closes.
Fishing:
*Devils Lake elevation, Nov 9: 1,447.05 feet above mean sea level (MSL).
*Stump Lake elevation: 1,447 MSL.
*Lake Sakakawea elevation: 1,830.19 MSL; 13,000 cubic feet per second average (CFS) Garrison Dam daily releases.
*N.D. Game and Fish Dept. Dist. game wardens: No reports from area lakes or Devils Lake. Little activity on the Missouri River System, although Lake Audubon starting to fill again after drawdown for maintenance. East Totten remains the access point yet, however.
*Devils Lake, Ed’s Bait Shop, Devils Lake: Continued walleye activity along the bridges.
*Devils Lake, Lakeview Lodge, Minnewaukan: Not much activity, but those going are finding fair walleye success.
*Devils Lake, Woodland Resort, Devils Lake: Not many anglers out, but those going on Devils Lake continue finding fair walleye success around the bridges.
*Foster County area lakes, Dry Dock, Carrington: Area lakes remain quiet.
*Jamestown Reservoir, Sooper Stop, Jamestown: Little activity throughout area lakes.
*Lake Ashtabula, Ashtabula Crossing, Luverne: A handful of anglers still out, but no new reports.
*Lake Ashtabula, Bayshore, Valley City: Occasional walleye and smallmouth bass activity yet, but limited angler numbers.
*Lake Sakakawea, Cenex Bait and Tackle, Garrison: Not much activity on the east end of Lake Sakakawea.
*Lake Sakakawea/Lake Audubon/Missouri River, Scott’s Bait and Tackle, Pick City: Missouri River tailrace and east end of Lake Sakakawea generally remain quiet with little activity.
*Lonetree WMA area lakes, Harvey: Coal Mine Lake closed to small game hunting and fishing through Nov. 30.
Hunting:
*Deer: Hunters having fair opening success in areas less impacted by EHD.
*Waterfowl: Good waterfowl numbers in northeast and east-central N.D. yet. Fair waterfowl numbers and success yet in north-central N.D., but not much northern movement. Not as many birds around the Valley City area earlier in the week. Nice snow goose numbers along the east end of the Missouri River System east of Lake Audubon earlier in the week. Good numbers remain in the northwest, but birds were concentrating earlier in the week in flocks of several thousand snow geese. Good numbers of mallards remain in pockets as well.
