New Rockford and area folks extend their sympathy to the family of Verna Guler.

Jerome and Vida Klocke of Underwood, N.D. become proud grandparents for the first time at 4:53 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021, when their daughter Malissa, and son-in-law Joey Joyce, of Bismarck, N.D. welcomed a 6 lb 8 oz baby girl, Brooklyn Rose, into the world. New grandma Vida is the daughter of the late Slim and Ida Womacks.

Wednesday, Amanda Bickett stopped in at mom and dad, Marvis and Ken Holte’s, and enjoyed visiting over a cup of tea.

Monday, Shirley Packard and Calvin Packard were among those who attended a funeral service for Edgar Duda at the Evans Funeral Home in New Rockford and the burial at Prairie Home Cemetery.

Wednesday, Todd Harrison and Calvin Packard helped install a new washing machine for Shirley Packard. Kevin Johnson stopped one day and repaired a table for Shirley.

Ken and Marvis Holte enjoyed a phone call on Sunday from their son Loren and his family of Bismarck, telling of a near disaster when a huge tree in their yard toppled during the Wednesday wind. The tree had fallen exactly between their car and house, harming nothing.

Janet Laube enjoyed a phone call from niece Shelly Nelson from Oklahoma on Sunday. All is well with Shelly.

Mary Gehrtz was a helper at the Shirley Packard home on Thursday.
