Andrew Rieger, 32, Esmond, N.D., died on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021 at his home in Esmond.

Funeral mass was held Tuesday, December 14 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Esmond. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Andrew was born on Feb. 6, 1989, in Minot, N.D. He was the son of Don and Susan (Bredine) Rieger. He grew up on the family farm near Esmond. He attended school in Maddock and graduated in 2008. While in high school, he played football. He participated in shop projects and choir. After graduating, he worked for area farmers, Summers Manufacturing, Rugby Manufacturing, and was currently working for Olson Farms of Esmond. Andrew enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on Demo Derby cars, and welding. He really enjoyed working for Olson Farms of Esmond. Andrew especially enjoyed spending time with his niece and nephew.

Andrew was a member of the St. Boniface Catholic Church of Esmond and the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Esmond Fire Department and drove for the Esmond Ambulance.

Andrew is survived by his father, Don Rieger of Esmond; sister and brother-in-law, Stephanie and Jordan Grossman of New Rockford; niece, Kylie Grossman, nephew, Kroy Grossman; step-father, Floyd Dressen of Minnewauken; maternal grandfather, Lloyd (Connie) Bredine of Towner.

Andrew was preceded in death by his mother, Susan Dressen; brother, Brandon Rieger; paternal grandparents; Rochus and Christine Rieger; maternal grandmother, Karen Bredine.
