The CHS wrestling team had their struggles in the Carrington Duals on Friday night, December 10, the event traditionally preceding the Al Larson Invitational.
The Cards dropped decisions of 31-24 to the Minot Magicians, 52-14 against Class B contender New Salem-Almont, and a tough 39-31 Region 2 loss to Pembina County North in the nightcap.
In between, Carrington rolled to a 59-12 win against the out-manned Napoleon Imperials.
The losses dropped the Cards' overall record in head-to-head outings to 3-4 for the year, and 1-1 in Region 2 competition.
NR-S senior and Cardinal wrestler Matthew Duchscherer was also 1-3 in his matches, falling to Pembina Co. North's Trevor Hinkle in a rematch of the 126-pound championship from one year ago, and taking losses to his Minot and New Salem-Almont opponents.
