City officials on ballot in Sheyenne

Positions held by five Sheyenne officials will be up for election this June. Sheyenne City Auditor Karla Jacobson reported Tuesday that the mayor, two city council and two park board seats will be on the ballot Tuesday, June 14.

Mayor Robert Hanson’s four-year term is up.

Council members with seats expiring are Elvis Thumb and Amy Benson, both four-year terms.

Park board members whose terms are up include Arnie Nyhusmoen and David Rieger.

Qualified voters who have been residents of the City of Sheyenne for at least nine months prior to the election are eligible to petition to have their name placed on the ballot. As with other local elections, the deadline for filing petitions is April 11 at 4 p.m.

Interested parties need to complete the Petition/Certificate of Nomination and obtain the appropriate number of signatures from other city residents. The petition must be delivered to the city auditor.
