WELCOME SPRING!!!
Congratulations Four Winds-Minnewaukan on winning the State Class B Championship in boys basketball.
Last week: Jake and Amanda Hegland and Piper were in Minneapolis for appointments. Fallyn and Croix had a good time staying with Jarvis and Patty Hegland.
This week: Last Sunday, Carrie Prince traveled to Jamestown to visit her sister, Cathy, and Shawn Caulfield. Carrie was an overnight guest. The girls enjoyed some shopping and visiting. Carrie returned home on Monday.
One evening this week, Linda Madson accompanied Melodie, Kennedee and McKenzee Madson to the grades 5-12 String Concert held at the Devils Lake High School. Kennedee plays the cello.
Friday evening, the Madsons, Dave, Linda, Melodie, Kennedee and McKenzee, enjoyed supper together at the Chinese restaurant in Devils Lake helping Kennedee celebrate her 13th birthday a day early.
Saturday afternoon, Linda went with Melodie and the girls to the annual Lake Region Figure Skating Club’s ice show at the Burdick Arena. Travel was the theme this year and the arena was decorated depicting that theme. Kennedee participated in several numbers.
After the Shooting Stars Synchro team did their number, they announced that it was Kennedee’s 13th birthday. She went out on the ice and had the spotlight on her while the crowd sang Happy Birthday. It was a very special moment for her.
Sunday, Cathy Caulfield drove from Jamestown to Oberon and picked up Carrie and they came to the ice show. Unfortunately, problems with keeping the ice maintained at the Burdick Arena forced the show to move to the Bill Jerome Arena. The show went on, but without all the great decorating at the Burdick. The kids were troopers and the show went on with some shortcuts, but it was still a very good performance.
Sunday, following the Ice Show, the Madsons and Carrie and Cathy (former Madsons) had supper at Mr. and Mrs. J’s restaurant in celebration of Kennedee’s birthday.
Doris Griffin reports that three rooster pheasants and a turkey visited her yard this week.
Heidi, Elin and Max Thompson of Grand Forks spent Monday and Tuesday with Randy and Charlotte Simon during spring break.
Sunday, Randy and Charlotte went to Jamestown to watch grandsons, Jaxon, fifth grade, and Easton, eighth grade, play in the third through eighth grade girls and boys basketball tournament.
