Angie Hopfauf steps down at the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd

The administration and staff at Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd are sad to be saying farewell to Angie Hopfauf at the end of April. Angie is the Social Services Director and has been a part of the LHGS team for over 18 years. If you were to ask people around New Rockford and Eddy County whose face they most associate with the Lutheran Home, it would probably be Angie's. She is the person who has coordinated with residents and their families on admissions, hospital transfers, monthly care conferences, discharges, advocacy for residents getting the care and services needed, and much more. The residents at LHGS know that Angie's door is always open if they need her help.

Once the word got out that Hopfauf would be stepping away from her position at LHGS, many family members of residents and former residents have voiced their appreciation:

• "Angie, you have helped our family through many trials. Thank you for your dedication to all the families you have helped through your years of service. God Bless!" --Robin

• "Best wishes to you, Angie! You are definitely going to be missed at the Lutheran Home. My mother-in-law still talks about the walks you took with her! You are such a giving person, and we are so thankful for all you did for us during her stay. Enjoy your new chapter in life!" --Barb

• "Good luck, Angie. You were a God-send while Dad was in the home. You will be missed by many." --Lisa

• "Best wishes to you, Angie! Thank you for all you did for my family when my Mom and Dad were at the home. You will be missed there!" --Janice

The Social Services Director duties will be handled by other staff members during the transition to a new person in the Social Services office. LHGS Administrator, Kim Jensrud, would also like to take this opportunity to pass along a big "thank you" to each and every member of the current LHGS staff; as well as the many former staff members that have contributed to the success and mission of our nursing home. "We could not exist without the wonderful and caring employees we have now, and have had over the years. Thank you all!"
