Sounds of Spring

Hallie Brown and Katie Allmaras accompanied the high school choir on ukulele in a jazzy rendition of "Over the Rainbow."

The junior high band performed four selections, including "Shake, Rattle and Roll" and the finale, a combined effort on "Sea Shanties" with the high school band. Layton Jacobson plays the trombone for the junior high band, while classmate Thomas Allmaras strums the bass guitar.

Sounds of Spring (continued from page A1): The junior high choir got things started at the Spring Concert on Tuesday, May 17. The four senior musicians were recognized by Mrs. Hovey, as this was their last high school concert. All four are pictured here mid-performance, clockwise, from top left: Maria Becker and Amzi Meier performed a duet in "Over the Rainbow," which Hovey deemed "the perfect graduation song"; Madison Schuster was in the front row for "Down in the River to Pray." Also shown are Ava Bullinger, alumnus Lindsey Louters, Jacob Louters and Maria Becker.

Macey Wobbema played a flute solo during the finale, "Sea Shanties," in her white bucket hat. Several other band members are also shown at right, including percussionists Jacob Louters, Lucy Meier and Vinnie Ruppell, Ava Peterson and Eli Alfstad on saxophone, and flutists Abigail Nystrom, Hallie Brown, Claire Becker and Kaci Weisenburger.
