New Rockford Babe Ruth splits with Thompson
Alex Weisenburger pitched during the game against Thompson 2 on Monday, June 27. Weisenburger only allowed two hits, with no errors and seven strikeouts.

The New Rockford Black Sox recently took on two different teams from Thompson in Babe Ruth baseball, with two completely different outcomes.
The Black Sox battled Thompson's first team on Wednesday, June 22, on the road.
Thompson scored three runs in the first inning, followed by nine more in the second and third. The Black Sox, meanwhile, couldn't find home plate and went the whole game without scoring.
After five innings, they found themselves down 12-0, sending them home earlier than expected thanks to the 10-run mercy rule.
The Black Sox got a chance to redeem themselves versus Thompson's second team on Monday, June 27 at home.
Contrary to the previous game, it was the Black Sox who pounced early on Monday, scoring 10 runs in the first three innings.
Thompson managed to score one run in the top of the first inning thanks to an error, but that was it.
Pitching for New Rockford was Alex Weisenburger, who struck out seven batters, gave up just two hits, and didn't allow a single earned run.
With him on the mound and with their offense indulging themselves, it was New Rockford's turn to take advantage of the mercy rule, winning 11-1 and sending Thompson packing after just five innings.
The win brought New Rockford's overall record to 6-2, and they played Nelson County on Wednesday, June 29, with hopes of improving their record. That game will be covered in the July 11 edition of the Transcript.
