New clinic opened Sept. 27

On Tuesday, Sept. 27, Cooperstown Medical Center opened their brand new satellite clinic in New Rockford.

The clinic is located in the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd, and its entrance is near the Chapel along 13th Street.

The clinic's hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

The provider at the clinic is Liza Ystaas, nee Weber, a New Rockford native and 2002 graduate of NRHS. Ystaas obtained her master of science in nursing from University of North Dakota in 2020 and is a Family Nurse Practitioner.

The clinic's nurse, Gretchen Berglund, is another familiar face to New Rockford.

Berglund is a graduate of NR-S and recently graduated from Lake Region State College this spring as an RN (registered nurse). She is currently attaining her Bachelor of Science in Nursing through Minot State University.

"I'm thankful for the opportunity to serve patients from my hometown," said Berglund.

The clinic is open to patients of all ages for both acute and primary care, and offers a variety of services, including well child visits, sports physicals, Medicare DOT physicals and Geriatric exams.

The clinic offers onsite lab draws and is able to process some - such as covid testing, influenza, rapid strep, urinalysis, hemoglobin testing and blood sugar checks - in house.

Other lab specimens can be sent to the medical center in Cooperstown, said Ystaas, who has also said their goal is to have labs back to patients within the same day or the day after, unless they're labs that require longer processing times.
