Holiday Fare

For the third year in a row, Miller’s Fresh Foods will not be holding a Taste of the Season tasting event. So sadly, there will be no tasting and sipping…but they will once again have a recipe book, the 2022 Taste of the Season “Last Blast from the Past,” filled with a collection of lots of their favorite recipes from the past 12 years!!

Below are just two of the many delicious holiday meals and treats featured in the Miller’s Fresh Foods Taste of the Season cookbook! For a free will donation to the New Rockford Fire Department, you can pick up your own copy soon. Watch for more details in this newspaper.

Holiday Veggie Wreath

2 cups diced broccoli florets

¼ cup sliced scallions

¼ cup diced roasted red peppers

2 to 4 Tbsp Our Family Italian Dressing

1 6ct pkg Our Family English Muffins, toasted

1-6oz container chive and garlic spread

2 Tbsp, chopped fresh parsley

1 red bell pepper

Directions:

In a bowl, toss broccoli, sliced scallions, roasted red peppers and Italian dressing; set aside.

Toast English muffins, cool slightly: spread tops with chive and garlic spread. Divide broccoli mixture evenly and place on each muffin half.

Arrange in a circle on the platter and sprinkle with parsley.

Cut red pepper to resemble a bow. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Stuffing Meatloaf

1 6oz box Our Family Stuffing Mix, dry

1 c. warm water

2 lbs. lean ground beef

2 eggs, slightly beaten

1 package Our Family Onion Soup Mix

Mashed Potatoes and Gravy

Directions:

Preheat oven 350°. Coat Bundt pan with cooking spray.

Place warm water, onion soup mix and dry stuffing mix in a bowl, mix well; let sit for 5 minutes to allow time for bread to absorb water.

Add eggs and ground beef, mix again.

Place mixture into Bundt pan. (You can also use muffin tins to make individual loaves.)

Bake 1 hour or until no longer pink inside. Muffins take 35 to 40 minutes.

Remove and allow to rest 5 minutes before serving.

*Fill center with mashed potatoes and gravy.
