Winter Reads: a selection of books from Eddy-New Rockford librarian Susie Sharp

We have many holiday books available for checkout here at the library and on our digital library. One of my personal favorites is "A Dog Named Christmas" by Greg Kincaid, which tells the tender story of how one very special dog changed the lives of his adoptive family and an entire town forever.

The hilarious, "The Shepherd, the Angel, and Walter the Christmas Miracle Dog" by Dave Barry, about a Christmas pageant in 1960 where everything goes wrong and only a miracle can save them, is just a delight.

"A Lowcountry Christmas" by Mary Alice Monroe is another story about a dog and wounded warrior that will make your heart swell.

We also have many "Mary Higgins Clark Christmas" mysteries that are always a fun read, and the Christmas series by Richard Paul Evans, an inspirational tale that brings to life the joy of the season and demonstrates the redemptive power of love: there is no hurt so great that love cannot heal it.

And of course we cannot forget about the queen of Christmas, Debbie Macomber, who has a new book "The Christmas Spirit," which is available now!

We have two new children's holiday picture books as well: "Pete the Cat's 12 Groovy Days of Christmas"and "Green Is for Christmas" with our favorite crayons. Many other Christmas stories for kids are also available for check out.

We also have many good beach reads if you would rather forget what the weather looks like outside!

Your local library has so many books to choose from, so just stop in! If you need delivery call (701) 947-5540.
