The history of the Pioneer Daughters extend back to 1929 when J.M. Diving delivered a speech in Dickenson titled "The Pioneer Mother of N. Dak."
The Pioneer Daughters were a special branch of the North Dakota Federation of Women's Clubs. To be eligible to join, a woman needed to be the descendant of a pioneer family who settled in the area prior to its statehood.
