A partnership between Bremen Bar and the Aggie Foundation made possible a $1,000 donation to Eddy County 4-H Shooting Sports and Outdoor Activities.
Tiffany Munson, Administrative Assistant for Eddy County 4-H, expressed her gratitude for the impact the donation made on the students.
"We were really appreciative of the donation ... and the kids were so appreciative of all of the items that were donated. They were just in awe of everything that was out there that we had for them," Munson said.
"The big impact that it has is that it keeps the kids talking and talking to the other kids in school to get more members and I think that makes a big huge impact on our program here ... I think that it gives these kids something else to look forward to besides sports."
The Eddy County 4-H Shooting Sports and Outdoor Activities is a branch of Eddy County 4-H that specializes specifically in teaching kids about gun safety, hunting, camping, kayaking and other outdoor activities. 4-H teaches life skills, communication skills and leadership skills to students. It gives them a sense of personal accomplishment because it is more individualized than a team sport.
The Aggie Foundation supports a broad spectrum of local organizations in fulfilling their missions in North Dakota. The Aggie Foundation has donated over $10,000 to organizations like 4-H in the past year.
"By supporting organizations like Eddy County 4-H, we are investing in a brighter future for all of us by providing young people with unique learning experiences that will stay with them throughout their lives," said Terry Peterson, Aggie Foundation Board President. "It's an exciting opportunity to be able to encourage the growth of the next generation."
The Aggie Foundation was established in 2012 by a group of friends from Velva, N.D.
The Foundation initially supported its mission of charitable giving via a modest, yearly scholarship provided to a Senior from Velva who excelled in Biology. They began to help raise funds for citizens in need, schools, youth sports, and local organizations or groups doing good things in Velva and the surrounding communities. Their expansion as a broad grant-provider and community partner allows them to support organizations across North Dakota working with community leaders to identify which organizations are in need of economic assistance.
