The District #13 Knights of Columbus free throw shoot off was held Jan. 29 in Devils Lake. District #13 includes the towns of Devils Lake, Lakota, Carrington and New Rockford.
New Rockford had 10 area youth ages nine through 14, who qualified to participate in the shoot off by winning the local contest on Jan. 22. Each contestant shot 25 free throws at the district contest, and four of the NR-S students earned the right to advance to the regional shoot off:
• Kalleigh Engels, 9-year-old girls' champ.
• Isla Jacobson, 11-year-old girls' champ.
• Jaxon Simon, 11-year-old boys' champ.
• Easton Simon, 14-year-old boys' champ.
The regional competition will be held on February 25 at St. John's Academy in Jamestown, with warm ups at noon.
