Boys 3rd at Region 2 duals

Carrington had their chances to make the State B Dual Tournament with either a championship or runner-up finish at the Region 2 championships in Harvey.

However, a painfully-close 36-33 loss in the semifinal round to the Pembina Co. North Grizzlies meant that the fate of that tournament berth was temporarily in others' hands.

If PCN were to advance to the finals and upset top seed Central Cass, that would have allowed the Cards to challenge the Squirrels for the final spot.

Unfortunately for CHS, Central Cass took care of business in the finals with a 46-33 win over the Grizzlies and ended CHS' aims to wrestle the dual portion of the state tournament on February 18 in Fargo.

Aside from that loss, the Cards wrestled well in the first round with a 50-0 shutout against #7 seed Northern Cass. Following their semifinal defeat, CHS took a 42-36 win over Hillsboro/Central Valley, and ousted host HWC, 51-18, to keep their flickering hopes alive for the time being.

This past Saturday, individual qualification was the goal at the Region 2 Tournament in Hillsboro, with the top four wrestlers in each region advancing to the State Tournament in Fargo Thursday-Friday, February 16-17.
